Paper Track

Abstracts (Optional): The peer-review process will be focused on the Full Papers; we welcome but do not require early abstract submissions. Abstracts must be submitted using the conference’s submission system (Conftool)  EC3 Conftool Subject Area Chairs will review the abstracts received to determine their suitability for this Congress and recommend which of the track areas is most suitable. This will serve as a guideline for preparing the full papers.

Full Papers: Full Papers must be prepared using the Full Paper Template document available below and must be submitted on the conference’s submission system EC3 ConftoolTwo international peer reviewers selected by the Subject Area Chairs for their expertise in the domain and their lack of conflict with the authors will review full Papers. Given the reviews, the Subject Area Chairs will make the decisions in collaboration with the Programme Chair. The decision may require the authors to resubmit their manuscript after having addressed issues raised by the reviewers.

Review Process: By submitting a paper to EC3, the authors agree to the review process and understand that papers are processed to match each manuscript to the best possible Subject Area Chairs and reviewers. Each paper will be double-blind reviewed. Note that the decisions for each paper will be either of the following three: Accept as isAccept pending minor revisionRebuttal or, Reject.! Getting your manuscript accepted at EC3 thus requires that you ensure that it is of great quality both in content (research contribution) and format (English and writing style).

Publication: All accepted papers will be made available to all registered participants shortly before the conference. They will become “open access” to the public one month after the conference. The organising committee will provide a unique DOI number and a permanent link to each accepted paper. Selected best papers will be invited post-conference to expand and strengthen/update their contributions for review and special consideration by the top-ranked Automation in Construction, an international research journal published by Elsevier.

Poster Track

We introduce a Poster Track aiming to highlight ongoing research in the broader area of computation in construction. We particularly encourage early-stage PhD researchers to submit to the Poster Track and present their research methods and results. Posters will be presented in a separate session encouraging in-depth discussions between the poster presenters, participants and experts in the field.

To present a poster, you have to submit an extended abstract describing your work via Conftool using the Full Paper Templates available below. The length of the extended abstract must not exceed 800 words. The submissions will be reviewed by the Program Committee to assess their suitability and quality. The extended abstract reviews will serve as a guideline for preparing the posters. There is no predefined poster template and the authors are expected to bring their poster directly to the conference upon acceptance of the extended abstract. The extended abstracts will be published alongside the full papers in the conference proceedings and will also receive a DOI.

Commitments and Obligations of Authors

Attendance/Registration responsibilities: The authors agree that if the paper is accepted, at least one of the authors will register for the conference and present the paper there. Each regular participant can publish up to two papers. If an author has three or more papers, an additional author will be required for each additional paper. Student authors can publish up to one paper. Students are given the option when registering for the conference to register for publication and presentation of a second paper (for an additional fee).

Author copyright transfer agreement terms and licensing policy:  All authors are required to accept the Copyright Transfer Agreement Term and Licensing Policy  upon the submission of the final paper version.
