By Air Porto
Porto is served by the Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (OPO), located just 11 km from the city center. The airport offers direct flights from major European cities, including London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, as well as many other international destinations.
- Flights: Airlines like Ryanair, EasyJet, Lufthansa, KLM, among many others offer frequent flights to Porto. We recommend booking early for the best prices.
- Airport to City Center: From the airport, you can reach the city center via the Metro Line E (Purple), which takes about 30 minutes. Taxis, Uber, and airport BUS shuttles are also available, with a typical ride to the city center.
By Train Porto
Porto is connected by an extensive rail network, making train travel a convenient option for attendees coming from within Europe. The Campanhã Railway Station is Porto’s main hub for long-distance trains. S. Bento Railway Station is the one closest to the city center. Connections by Urban trains are ensured between the two stations.
- From Lisbon: Fast trains (Alfa Pendular) take about 2.5 hours from Lisbon to Porto.
- From Spain: Direct trains from Vigo, Spain, reach Porto in around 2.5 hours.
- Local Trains: Trains from other Portuguese cities such as Braga, Guimarães, Aveiro, and Coimbra also provide frequent service to Porto.
By Bus Porto
Several reliable long-distance bus operators, such as FlixBus and Rede Expressos, offer budget-friendly options to Porto from Lisbon, Madrid, and other European cities. The buses arrive at Porto’s main bus terminal (attached to Campanhã Railway Station).
By Car Porto
If you’re planning a scenic road trip, driving to Porto is an excellent option. Portugal’s well-maintained motorway network makes it easy to reach the city from across the country or neighbouring Spain. However, parking in the city center can be limited, so consider using hotel parking or public garages.
