Student Conference Travel & Attendance Supplement
Criteria for Selection
The supplement can be provided to scholars who are registered as an MSc or PhD student at an accredited academic institution worldwide, studying in a subject related to EC-3’s mission.
Financial Need: Priority will be given to candidates demonstrating financial need. This needs to be substantiated with evidence. The submission should describe and itemise how the support supplement will be used.
Academic Excellence: Candidates should have a strong academic record.
Relevance to Conference: Candidates whose research interests align with the conference theme will be given preference.
Motivation and Commitment: Candidates must submit a compelling motivation for attending the conference and a clear commitment to actively participate in the activities of EC-3.
Selection Procedure
1. Application Submission
- Candidates submit their applications through the provided application form.
- Application deadline is set for 15/04/2025
2. Initial Screening
- Selection committee reviews all applications for completeness and adherence to guidelines.
3. Shortlisting
- Committee members independently shortlist candidates based on the criteria.
- Shortlisted candidates are those who demonstrate a strong match with the criteria.
- If not enough applications are submitted then the committee selects amongst those submitted.
4. Joint Review Meeting
- The selection committee holds a joint meeting to discuss the shortlisted candidates.
- Each committee member presents their findings and arguments for or against each candidate.
5. Final Selection
- Committee members collectively decide on the final list of scholarship recipients.
- The decision is based on a consensus or a voting process if needed.
6. Notification
- Selected candidates are notified of their scholarship award.
- The announcement is made on 30/04/2025
